A Family-Friendly Community Celebration of Fun and Patriotism
on July 4 Every Year!
Rose, White and Blue Parade Postponed Due to COVID-19
The 13th Annual Rose, White and Blue Parade & Festival will not take place on the Fourth of July this year. The Executive Board has determined that there is not enough sufficient information and time to create a safe and accessible event for the people of San José, Santa Clara County, and the greater SF Bay Area. The celebrations will instead be postponed to Labor Day weekend with festivities taking place on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2020. However, the event will be subject to the guidelines set by the Health Department of Santa Clara County to create a safe and accessible environment for the community. The status of the festival and parade may still be subject to change, or cancellation, over the next few weeks/months, and will be decided upon cohesively with our partners and community leaders. It is our hope that by June 1, 2020 the Board will have a clearer idea about moving forward with the postponed Labor Day date for the Rose, White and Blue event, or if an alternative virtual celebration that highlights artists, community groups, and organizations will take place instead. It is also our intention to research and partner with our essential healthcare worker organizations to use the parade to help raise funds and awareness to one of the groups. The Rose, White, and Blue Parade is a much-beloved annual event in San José’s Rose Garden–area neighborhoods along The Alameda, which has a rich history of parades, including the Carnival of Roses and the Fiesta De las Rosas. This year, we celebrate our 12th Anniversary, making this the longest running parade in the history of The Alameda.
